MAN UP
Hello!!
Happy Friday..
According to the urban dictionary, to MAN UP is to be brave or daring. I was searching for an appropriate title for this post and daring is how I felt when I wore this look. I was inspired by the menswear trend that I have been seeing on street styles and magazines.
I desired a v-neck cardigan to complete this look and you can imagine my joy when I saw one at Old Navy, in the menswear section to boot! Being a print lover, the houndstooth jacket just gave that extra oomph! Since I dint have a tie, the accessories were the perfect substitute.
What would we do without our phones these days? Oh well...
Trying out a menswear inspired look was an interesting challenge and I love how everything came together. I believe I will be integrating this style to my outfits once in a while.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.
FALL TRENDS 2012 (PART 1)
GOING BAROQUE
Fashion has a way of looking back into the past then reinventing itself to fit the needs of the present day. For this fall, designers were inspired with the Baroque era (some 400 years ago) where excess glamour and opulence was at the forefront. Gold trims, brocades, detailed embroidery were some of the details portrayed for fall 2012.
V- VOLUME
Voluminous coats and jackets were also in full display. I put the two trends together in a way that would suit my personal style.
I got this gorgeous skirt from a vintage sale a year ago. The gold details and the pattern were so compelling that they struck a cord with me. The soft pink lace top works with the skirt without being too overpowering. I love mixing different colors with accessories, but here the shoes and the bag are just perfect. I settled on the chunky gold chain and brooch as accents for this look. :)
I had a lot of fun putting this look together. Thanks for stopping by. :)
