VAMPY LIPS
I love purples, pinks, and reds but somehow these deep dark colors been calling me to the dark side.
Lately, I have been drawn to dark lippies. My main inspiration being my spirit animal and the beyond stylish, Rihanna. I love bright purples, pinks, and reds but somehow these deep dark colors been calling me to the dark side.
I have a serious major crush on Kat Von D liquid lipsticks line. The colors are highly pigmented and they don't seem to wear off!! Check out these liquid lipsticks that will give you that Vampy look this fall. You can by them at your local Sephora. Or find them online.

ORANGE
The hottest lip color this Spring season is Orange.
The hottest lip color this Spring season is Orange. You can’t miss seeing it on the runway, magazine spreads, red carpet, and on Instagram feeds. Orange as a lip color can be a little intimidating but once in a while, its good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Urban Decay's BANG lipstick.
I am absolutely crazy about this urban decay lippie. It is somewhat matte with red vibrant undertones which make the orange really pop. The best part about it is that it lasts really long, so frequent touch-ups won't be necessary. You can get this lippie from Ulta or Sephora.
Maybelline Color Whisper Orange Attitude 04
If you don't want to be really out there with the bold orange color. This lippie is for you. It is very soft and subtle with some sheen. You can found Maybelline products at your neighbourhood pharmacy store.
Mac Vegas Volt
Vegas Volt is not really orange but a lipstick on the peachy, corally side. It leans heavily on the pink side with orange tints. I have had it for quite sometime now and I usually like to rock it with my vintage dresses when am going for the lady like looks as seen here on Pink October. I added it to my Orange faves because I consider it well, part of the family.
SONIA KASHUK Red Orange 95
Ever walked into a store and found yourself perusing through the beauty aisle? I tend to do that quite often. I am drawn to the beauty aisle like steel on magnet. Sonia Kashuk is a brand that I discovered on a random grocery stop at Target and truth be told, I love her products.
This satin luxe lip color in Red Orange is absolutley divine. It is smooth to apply and the pigments are everything. I will be adding some of her other lipsticks to my little beauty bar.
With Orange lipsticks, I usually buy shades that have some red in it. A lip liner comes in handy when putting on an orange lipstick. A lipliner is important because it gives your lips definition, makes the color last longer, and for bright colors like reds and oranges, ensures that the color won't bleed and spread all over your lips. I used a red lipliner for all four lipsticks, applying it all over my lips prior to the lipstick. The red lip liner was my preference, you might choose to go for an orange one but that is up to you.
There you have it ladies, my four Orange faves. Will you be adding an orange lippie to your stash of lipsticks?
Thanks for stopping by.
SUZIE WOKABI
My chat with the stunning, Suzie Wokabi, CEO of Suzie Beauty Ltd, on all things Beauty.
Beauty and Fashion go hand in hand, you cannot have one without the other. It’s like peanut butter and jelly, or peas and carrots, or in more fashionable terms, jeans and a white tee, or an LBD with classic black pumps. Beauty products enhance how you present yourself to the world. They add flair to your look, a spring to your step, and make you walk with your head held up high.
Women and men have been using beauty products since time in memorial. Personally, I am a huge fan of the eyeliner. The eyeliner is said to have first been used in ancient Egypt. I can't think of a winged eye-liner without having Nefertiti in mind. She was the Great Royal wife to the Egyptian Pharaoh back in the day. Then there is the oh so famous "smokey eye". I love a good story so please bear with me.
In my google expeditions, I found out that the smokey eye which is sooo popular today was first done in the early 1920s. History tells us that the 1920s was a decade of opulence, decadence, glitz and glamor. Think of the Great Gatsby. It was a time of social and political change. The first world war was over, the economy was booming, and the women were liberating themselves shedding their morals faster than their tightly fitted corsets. The smokey eye was inspired by what women were watching at the time on their black and white movie sets. The big screen make up was very intense with dark shadows smudged at the corners of the eyes. The women adopted it as the latest beauty do.
Coincidentally, King Tut's*, (another Egyptian pharoah) tomb was discovered. One of the artifacts they found there was a burial mask that had heavily lined eyes, this sparked a huge interest. The eyeliner was officially introduced to the Western world.
Aaahh, how I love such information.
I mentioned a while back that I would be adding more content on the blog. For my inaugural beauty post, I figured a chat with someone I consider my friend and an inspiration to many would suffice. Below is a video of my chat with the beautiful Suzie Wokabi, CEO of SuzieBeauty Ltd on all things beauty.
Suzie reallly stressed on the importance of having a consistent skin care regimen. After shooting I wanted to find out what her's was. She uses Johnson and Johnson; Clean & Clear cleanser to wash her face, and a moisturizer from the same company. To ensure her skin stays soft and zitt-free, Suzie uses these products for her morning and evening routine.
I was surprised to find out that she doesn't fuss with her make up!! 5 minutes tops and she is done.
Suzie went for a very natural look for her eye makeup. On her face, she used the Suzie Beauty LATTE Conceler then locked it in with the Suzie Beauty Pressed Powder. For her lips she went for a subtle soft Suzie beauty NIKII lipcolor in pink.
All these products can be found here.
A quick Celfie..
